
Meet Anthony Briscoe...
Showtown’s second Funny Bones Residency is being taken up by Anthony Briscoe between January and March 2025.
Anthony is Blackpool born and bred. A performer who has performed his comedy/performance poetry on The BBC, at Brighton Festival, Camden Festival, Blackpool Comedy Festival, Morecambe Festival and most recently The Lancashire Fringe.
He has
worked with the National Literacy Trust and National Theatre in local Blackpool
schools, in conjunction with The Old Electric Theatre, to devise and develop a
series of scripts with local primary schools that culminated in a performance
of the children's work as part of the ‘Power Plays’ project.
As part of Anthony's residency with Showtown he is developing a new tour of Blackpool with our wonderful tour guide volunteers. The tour is aimed at families to explore Blackpool history in a fun and
interactive way - join us to find out more and have lots of fun along the way!
