The controversial and legendary playwright, Oscar Wilde visited Blackpool only once: 12th December 1883.
On 14th February 1895, what was to be his final play, The Importance of Being Earnest, opened at the St James Theatre, London.
To celebrate this, its 130th anniversary, join actor and theatre director Russell Grant, as we pay homage to what Gyles Brandreth, Honorary President of The Oscar Wilde Society, says is “the best play written in English in the entire nineteenth century.”
You can take part in the play reading or are welcome to be an audience member.
We will be reading excerpts of the original three act play with intervals between and hot food* to sustain the creativity.
*Vegan friendly food will be available.
This event is suitable for adults 18+.
