Local historians Anne Charlesworth & Robert Leach take us on a journey round the resort’s routes, from the very earliest to those of the first Census of 1841, involving a stroll with the enumerator from the Town Hall to the Blackpool Bridge.
They then revisit some of the town centre’s lost streets and passageways and take a look at how large-scale development of land, for example the Raike's Pleasure Gardens and various farms, changed the townscape.
They end our shared journey in South Shore; tracing its early agricultural roots, and routes, through time to the present day.
Organised by Robert Leach, Anne Charlesworth and Showtown Blackpool.
